About Sound Mind
Sound Mind Counseling & Consulting was created to provide thoughtful, evidence-based therapy that goes beyond simply having a place to talk.
Therapy should help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools for creating meaningful change. The approach at Sound Mind balances compassion and support with honest reflection, accountability, and opportunities to practice doing things differently.
Sound Mind currently provides individualized therapy for children, teens, adults, couples, and families throughout California, with care tailored to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals.

Mission & Approach
The mission of Sound Mind is to provide compassionate, individualized care that helps clients build greater self-awareness, develop effective coping and communication skills, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Therapy at Sound Mind is collaborative and active. It is not about being told what to do, nor is it simply a place to talk without direction. The therapeutic process creates space to understand what is happening, identify patterns, explore different perspectives, and determine what changes may help you move toward the life and relationships you want.
Meaningful change often happens when insight is paired with action. That may mean practicing new skills, challenging familiar patterns, having difficult conversations, setting boundaries, or taking small steps outside of what feels comfortable.

Founder & Lead Clinician
Miranda Leon, LCSW
Hi, I’m Miranda, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Sound Mind Counseling & Consulting.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, practical, and active. I want my clients to feel heard and understood, but I also believe therapy should help you recognize the things you want to change and begin doing something differently.
In our work together, I may help you slow down and understand what is happening beneath the surface, draw attention to patterns that may be difficult to recognize on your own, challenge you to consider another perspective, and help you stay accountable to the goals you have identified for yourself.
I founded Sound Mind with a larger vision: to build a collaborative practice where clients can connect with clinicians who are committed to providing thoughtful, individualized, evidence-based care while maintaining the warmth and personal connection that make therapy meaningful.
Treatment Philosophy
Support and change can exist in the same space.
Feeling understood and being challenged to grow do not have to be opposites.
The treatment philosophy at Sound Mind is grounded in the understanding that insight alone does not always create change. Understanding why you think, feel, or respond in certain ways can be incredibly valuable, but therapy can also help you determine what you want to do differently.
Depending on your needs and goals, therapy may involve identifying patterns, developing practical coping and communication skills, exploring difficult emotions, challenging unhelpful ways of thinking, strengthening relationships, establishing healthier boundaries, and practicing new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Treatment is individualized because no two people—and no two reasons for seeking therapy—are exactly the same.
